How To Add The Paid Partnership Label using Instagram’s Branded Content Partner Tools

We require our influencers to add our agency, Simply Social Media, our our client, as a branded content partner so that we may see the insights from their published posts. Here are some how-to videos on how to add the paid partnership tag. Scroll down to learn how to add this tag on Instagram stories.

STEP ONE

You must have a Professional Instagram Account (Creator or Business) for us and/or our client to be able to see the analytics with the Branded Content tools. If you currently have a personal Instagram account, please watch BOTH of these videos to switch your account type, and to apply to use Meta’s Branded Content tools.

Please note: Instagram will require you to publish THREE posts before your account is officially a professional account. Please complete this process with plenty of time before your required posting schedule for this campaign.

Adding Branded Content To An Instagram Post

Here is how to add the paid partnership label while you are creating an Instagram post.

When you are in the process of creating your Instagram post, scroll down to the bottom of the screen to where it says, “Advanced Settings”. Under the “Branded Content” section, select “Tag Business Partner”. Here is where you type “@simplysocialnm” and select Simply Social Media. Finally, don’t forget to include the hashtag #simplysocialnmpartner in the caption area (not the first comment!) of your post to comply with FTC guidelines.

Here is how to add the paid partnership label after your post has already published.

Sometimes you can get caught up in writing your post and forget to add the branded content sponsor tag until after the post is published. Don’t worry! This tag can be added after the post is published and we are still able to access all of the analytic data we need to calculate for our clients. You still need to add the hashtag #simplysocialnmpartner to your caption area and not the first comment.

Common Branded Content Tag Errors

If you see this error, it means we need to approve your account before the branded content tag can be added. We do our best to pre-approve our influencers, but occasionally some do not get approved before posts or stories are published. If this happens please reach out to us so we may approve your account.

If you see this error, no worries! Unless we discuss wanting to promote your story ahead of time, we do not need you to switch the “Allow Business Partner to Promote” option to on.

This usually happens when music has been added to a post or story, or an interactive sticker is attached.
